Description:
The fieldwork instructor position/s are part of the Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education, They conduct fieldwork supervision and coordination for early childhood programs in the Department of Educational Psychology (e.g. BA in Human Development and Learning; M.Eds in Early Childhood Education and Youth Development; and the Early Childhood Alternative Licensure Program). The fieldwork instructor organizes field placements for students, provides supervision and coaching to students in the field, and coordinates with faculty program coordinators and instructors of field-based seminars. Field supervision includes coaching, documentation, and assessment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate field placements for practicums, student teaching, and residencies.
Conduct fieldwork (in person and virtual) visits providing coaching and assessments.
Documents information related to fieldwork placements.
Coordinates with Program Coordinators, Course Instructors, and the Council on Teacher Education as required.
Maintains partnership database for field placements.
Collaborates with program faculty and researchers for program evaluation and continued accreditation.
Participate on committees and/or teams as needed and/or assigned.
Knows and enforces academic policies.
Will be responsible for designing and leading seminars aligned with practicum, student teaching, and residency requirements.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Required travel to schools and community-based organizations in Chicagoland area. Regular overnight travel not expected but may occur occasionally around previously scheduled events

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a Master's Degree in Education, Youth Development, Early Childhood, Education, or related field Five years of experience working with young children and/or youth in community-based and/or school settings. Demonstrated experience in teaching and/or coaching pre-service and in-service Knowledge of Chicago area communities and resources available Ability to work as a member of team Required regular travel to multiple sites throughout the city and surrounding communities. Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and computer skills. Required: ability to travel to schools and community-based organizations in Chicagoland area. Occasional overnight travel could occur
Preferred Qualifications Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

The budgeted salary range for the position is $71,000 to $81,000.
