Duties and Responsibilities The Department of Education and School Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Literacy with Preschool – Grade 5 expertise beginning fall 2020. The university is dedicated to a balance of scholarship, teaching and service. Including graduate and undergraduate courses, teaching load is 9 hours per semester (3 classes) with small class sizes of 10 to 20 students. Expectations also include student advisement and service to the department, university and profession. The department is fully accredited (2019) by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Required Qualifications • Earned doctorate in Literacy education or strongly related field • Evidence of research and publishing with a focus in literacy education
Preferred Qualifications • Three years of teaching experience in P-5 settings and eligibility to acquire a teaching license • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy • Experience in program coordination or related leadership • Experience and/or interest in offering online courses • Expertise in literacy assessment and intervention • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students with a commitment to social justice and equality of educational opportunity • Willingness to contribute to school partnerships, clinical experiences, and community outreach • Active participation in state/national professional organizations; • Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy education
