Job Overview: Lead Bal Swan Children’s Centers educational initiatives by supervising teaching staff, collaborating with administrative team, implementing and supporting evidence-based best practices in early childhood, and planning intentional professional development for teaching staff.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervise and lead teaching staff
Plan and implement professional development for teaching staff, staying current on trends in evidence-based inclusive early childhood practices
Obtain and/or maintain required license(s) and oversee licensing compliance
Obtain and/or maintain Bal Swan’s high quality rating from the statewide Colorado Shines rating system and/or other high quality ratings as directed by the Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors
Organize recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts for new teachers
Support teachers, helping to develop and implement strategies for children with challenging behaviors
Work with the Admissions and Family Services Coordinator to place children in classes
Represent Bal Swan in the early childhood educational community
Welcome prospective families to Bal Swan during the touring process
Create and update educational policies as needed
Provide families with information regarding transition to elementary school programs
Manage the individual needs of children and families with the collective needs and goals of the center
Excellent communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written)
Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities
Ability to manage conflict
Motivated by fairness, integrity and honesty
Passionate about early childhood education
Commensurate with experience

Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development or Special Education required
Pyramid Certification required
Large Center Director qualified for the state of Colorado required
Supervision experience in an educational center preferred
Classroom experience in an inclusive preschool setting preferred
