Job Descriptions: Assistant/Associate Professors
The School of Education invites applications for two faculty positions at the University of Cincinnati, College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH). These tenure track positions in Early Childhood Education and Human Development will begin August 15, 2019.
This search is for two positions at the rank of assistant or associate professor for individuals with expertise in early childhood inclusive education programs. The successful candidate will teach in-person and online undergraduate courses in Early Childhood Education (birth through grade 5) and teach and/or mentor graduate students in Early Childhood or related areas. Other duties may include supervising students in field placements or assuming program leadership positions. Additional expectations include; development of a robust research agenda, establishment of a strong record of scholarly publication, and contribution to professional, university, and community service. Possibilities exist for working with urban schools and/or the Arlitt Center for Education, Research, and Sustainability. An earned doctorate in early childhood education or related field and a demonstrated record of scholarly publication are required. Qualified candidates must demonstrate capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues toward accomplishment of shared goals.
Candidates seeking the rank of associate professor will bring an excellent record of scholarship, teaching, and service. Candidates seeking the rank of associate professor will bring fresh perspectives and methodologies that can drive future discovery. Rank is dependent upon qualifications and years of experience.
Three years preschool and/or primary (public school) teaching experience with children from diverse ethnic, cultural, ability, and linguistic groups is preferred. Preferred areas of expertise are teacher education, children’s literature, assessment, literacy, curriculum development and implementation, and/or math and science education. Candidates with demonstrated capacity to secure external funding are encouraged to apply.
