Jubilee JumpStart is an early childhood education program serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, that provides quality, affordable child care to families in Washington, D.C. Our mission is to ensure that children are fully prepared for success in school and beyond by providing them with early education, enriched by an intense focus on social and emotional well-being, and practical support to their families. Jubilee JumpStart is currently seeking a candidate to fill the position of Education Coach. This is a newly revised role for our program and the person hired to fill the position will assist in development of our coaching model.
TITLE: Education Coach (Birth to 3)
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Education Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Education coaches are responsible for conducting, organizing and facilitating coach embedded professional development to assist early childhood education teachers in engaging in ongoing professional development that will develop best practices for high quality early education.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide classroom embedded coaching and technical assistance for early childhood education teachers, with a focus on teachers working with children Birth - 3.
Regularly observe all classrooms ensuring effective implementation of The Creative Curriculum.
Assist teachers in the implementation of best practices in Early Childhood Education as defined by ITERS, CLASS, NAEYC, and other evidenced based tools.
Provide feedback through weekly reflective supervision with teachers.
Assist in the development of individual professional development plans for teaching staff and support the implementation of these plans.
Assist in developing and implementing staff trainings that support the programs professional development plan.
Collaborate with consultants and specialists to provide technical assistance to teachers to address the special needs of individual children in the classrooms.
Prepare and provide observation summaries to teachers and the Education Manger.
Write monthly reports as required.
Attend program management meetings and staff meetings.
Assist program in development of annual continuous quality improvement plan.
All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration or related field.
5 years’ experience working with children age birth to five.
A minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.
Experience implementing The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, and Two & The Creative Curriculum for Preschool.
Experience in child assessment using Teaching Strategies GOLD.
Knowledgeable in CLASS, ITERS, ECERS.
Knowledgeable about Head Start Performance Standards, licensing regulations, and NAEYC accreditation.
Knowledgeable in the measurement and evaluation of child outcomes and classroom quality.

Jubilee JumpStart is a nonprofit early childhood education program located in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C.. Jubilee JumpStart offers a high-quality dual-language program to children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. As part of D.C.'s child care subsidy program we offer 75% of our enrollment to families qualifying for this program. Jubilee JumpStart is a vibrant learning community where every child gets a chance to learn, grow, and delight in the world.
Currently, Jubilee JumpStart nurtures and educates fifty children ages six weeks through five years to its center-based care program from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, and their primary caregivers through additional family support programs. Recognizing that while all parents want the best for their child, not all have the tools and support to meet all their child's needs, Jubilee JumpStart is not only an early childcare center but a parent education resource, as well. Jubilee JumpStart works to strengthen families and communities, as well as empowering families to move up and out of poverty by helping children and parents realize their educational and career opportunities.
