Virginia Theological Seminary seeks skilled part-time and full-time Teachers to lead our on-campus preschool and childcare center known as The Butterfly House and Caterpillar Club, which serves the children of our Seminary community and those of our partner institution, Episcopal High School. Candidates will have demonstrated experience and success as a teacher in a preschool or other educational setting and project an evident love of children.
Teachers work as a team to create a learning environment in a developmentally appropriate play environment for children in a mixed age group of three to five year olds. Teachers plan developmentally appropriate activities and engage directly with children in the learning process.
Candidates should be a Certified Child Development Associate or have a minimum of three years’ experience working in a qualified pre-school or childcare center. Experience writing weekly newsletter, administrative knowledge and skills, and the capacity to perform physical child care duties are preferred.
