60 Water Street is a brand new location opening in January 2019 and is located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn. With converted warehouse buildings and cobblestone streets, this center is within walking distance to Empire Fulton Ferry State Park. The park hosts a variety of outside activities, picnic areas, playgrounds and Jane's Carousel. The carousel was built in 1922, is newly renovated and is now housed in a gorgeous glass pavilion. This center will have the capacity for 133 children and will offer a Movement Matters Zone. Open from 7am-6:30pm Monday through Friday, we are looking for a Director who is ready for a challenge to effectively ramp up and grow the program. Bright Horizons at 345 Adams Street located in the Metro Tech region of Brooklyn is currently hiring a Director for their full service program. The center serves children ages six weeks through five years old and is open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., serving approximately 144 children. This center is accessible to the J Street Subway terminal and within walking distance to the Metro Tech Center which also is home to many restaurants and shops. Previous Assistant Director experience is required, Director experience highly preferred for this position
3-5 years Leadership experience
Bachelors/Masters in ECE or related field required
B-2, N-6, 1-6, Special Education or School Building Leadership certification required
Proven strength required in written and oral communication skills, leadership and supervisory skills
Ability to lead and coach staff in implementing a DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practices) curriculum, financial management and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience working with all age groups
NAEYC accreditation process preferred
Experience and knowledge of computer applications
