Saint James School for Little Folks seeks a Director who will provide our children and their families with a caring and nurturing environment, will be devoted to them, and will show the love of Christ to all. We are located in Hendersonville, NC. Our school is Episcopal Church based and has been operating since 1932. This school has a rich history of preparing children for Kindergarten using a diverse curriculum as well as religious experiences like weekly chapel and daily prayer.

Bachelors degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field
Have completed or plan to complete two Administrative Credential courses (EDU-261 and EDU-262)
Minimum of 2 years experience as a center director, assistant director, lead teacher, administrator, or equivalent
Knowledge of USDA and food guidelines for children
Proficient with computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and have the ability to learn other programs quickly
Pass all background checks and certification as mandated by North Carolina and the Episcopal Church
Experience with the Episcopal tradition
Manage overall operations of the Preschool, serving one year olds to Pre-K
Provide a safe, healthy, caring, and positive environment for staff, children, and families
Ensure compliance with NC licensing standards and related regulations
Manage budget and ensure healthy financial situation
Procure classroom supplies, food, and other materials necessary for school operations
Ensure that curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices are in place
Assist teachers with weekly development and execution of the curriculum and program activities
Provide staff development by offering programs during workdays and monthly staff meetings
Participate in daily prayer and weekly chapel with the students and staff
As a member of the St. James parish staff, attend weekly staff meetings
All other duties as necessary

We are an Episcopal parochial preschool for children 1-5. We are seeking a new director for the school to work closely with the rector, the vestry, and the church staff. This is a professional position.
