The County's After School Activities (CASA) program is a state licensed after school program for elementary school age children currently operating at 46 sites. As the Coordinator your managerial skills will be used to manage the day to day activities of the program, insuring the quality and content of program design, organization, curriculum development and consistent implementation of the program countywide. You will oversee the organization, recruitment, performance, training and development of full-time, part-time and temporary staff. You will also coordinate the State of Virginia Child Care licensing process and requirements for each of the sites to ensure compliance, with a focus on child safety and supervision. Additionally, you will develop and recommend policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and a quality program and plan and develop and manage a large annual budget. Position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in recreation, child care, education or related field and at least 3 years directly related work experience, which must include a minimum of one year program management and staff supervisory experience. Knowledge of the State of Virginia Child Day Centers licensing standards strongly preferred. Virginia State licensing requires 6 months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have certification in First Aid, CPR for adult, infant and child, and a negative TB test result prior to beginning work. Successful candidate will undergo criminal background, Child Protective Services, credit and DMV checks.
