Located at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton, the Bernice B. Godine Early Learning Center serves as the JCCGB’s flagship Early Learning Center, and enrolls over 180 children infant through preschool age in 14 classrooms. The Director leads a team including Assistant Directors, Office staff, Child Development Specialists and a dedicated staff of 50 Teachers. The program focuses on providing children with meaningful learning experiences through emergent curriculum and extensive enrichment opportunities, with a strong family-centered approach.
Interested candidates should have very strong leadership, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. This full time, full year position begins in June 2017.
Core Director responsibilities include:
Provide leadership, supervision, recruitment
and retention of teaching and administrative staff
Oversee all phases of daily operations
Administer and monitor all budget and enrollment operations
Maintain excellent parent relationships and communication
Lead the program into the future with vision and energy
Qualifications and Skills:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field
Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care Director II certification
Minimum of 7 years of experience as an early childhood center director
Prior experience directing a large early childhood center
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of Judaica for early learners is a plus
