JOB DETAILS: Teacher(s) are responsible for the care, curriculum, supervision, health and safety of children ages two to five. A qualified Teacher must work with other teaching staff to implement programs and activities that meet LBM guidelines and standards set forth by Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Arizona’s Early Learning Standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Follows LBM curriculum providing developmentally and linguistically appropriate learning experiences that advance the intellectual and emotional competence of preschool children. 2. Provides supervision and ensures the safety and security of children at all times in accordance with preschool licensing requirements. 3. Nurture second-language development to English-speaking students in a Spanish immersion environment. 4. Creates, follows and implements daily lesson plans in accordance with the LBM curriculum that addresses children's needs and interests and incorporates observations and assessment of outcomes. 5. Provides positive guidance and discipline supporting children as they acquire skills for kindergarten readiness and beyond. 6. Provide children with a consistent classroom routine and follow robust daily schedule. 7. Practices appropriate guidance and discipline techniques as outlined by ADHS and NAEYC to ensure that children are cared for, respected and safe at all times. 8. The ability to work independently and as a team member. 9. Demonstrates a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving. 10. Seeks excellence and willing to go above and beyond minimum job requirements. 11. Communicates clearly and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with children, co-workers, parents and administrators. 12. Required to participate in weekly teacher development meetings, some school events, and required professional development hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Spanish/English bilingual required (Native Spanish Speaker preferred) 2. Minimum of a CDA, Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in early childhood education. 3. Two years experience as a teacher or primary care provider in an early care and education setting with toddlers or preschoolers (preferably in a bilingual setting). 4. Proof of CPR certification, First Aid certification, TB Test, education records, employment verification and valid references. 5. Excellent knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. 6. Knowledge of community resources and how they impact early childhood programs. Thorough understanding of child development and some knowledge of ADHS standards.
Additional Salary Information: Hourly rate is based on experience and position (lead teacher, assistant, aftercare)
