Over 20% of youth in the United States have experienced some form of trauma: abuse, neglect, domestic and community violence, poverty, and more. Childhaven’s goals are to improve the lives of children who have been most affected by these negative experiences, and to stop this epidemic of trauma before it impacts the next generation.
Since opening our doors as a day nursery in 1909, ...we’ve built an impressive legacy of care for the families of King County, and we’ve won the support of hundreds of individual donors, corporations, and foundations. Today, we’re a leading provider of trauma-informed early learning and pediatric mental health services for children from birth to six.
Our science-based, heart-centered programs for kids and their caregivers support healthy development, academic readiness, and emotional well-being. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of what they’ve experienced.
We thrive on partnership. We work with families, our community, and most of all with our staff to deliver best-in-class services to those who need them. We’re looking for collaborators who can help us realize a bold vision: a future where all children grow up safe and healthy, thriving physically, emotionally, and educationally.
